  • Magical Molokai  By : Tony Rathstone..
Molokai was created when two major volcanoes pushed their way out of the Pacific Ocean some million plus years ago. Over time, part of what had developed fell right into the ocean as a result leaving behind the mighty sea cliffs that are renowned in Molokai. Settlers then migrated from the South Pacific to Molokai. Settlers migrated here in hopes of seeking wisdom and advice. There is a rich sense of spirituality and religious history among the natives who still hold on very strongly to what their ancestors stood for. Molokai is known for being very balanced between man and nature and a very long history of sorcery and tribal communities unveils in the stories that are told with such pride. The symbolic traditions and sense of harmony that flows through this island is almost inconceivable. Molokai has always been considered a place of magic from very early times. Being the most incorrupt of any of the Hawaiian Islands it is the most unimaginable place to exchange wedding vows. Many couples have decided to get married and celebrate that most special day either high upon the sea cliffs that overlook the flawless ocean or on the edge of the white sandy beach. There are ranches and lodges that can accommodate any beautiful reception. It is also been said that a trip down to Halawa Valley will take your breath away. This makes Molokai a perfect place for a private and secluded wedding. Molokai is not the vacation spot for everyone and that is how the locals intend to keep it. Thousands of stories have been told by people who vacationed in Molokai and said they had never been treated finer. The locals treated them like family and were certain in making sure their stay was nothing but comfortable. Most who travel to Molokai do intend to return, the only changes they plan to make to their travel plans is to spend more time in Molokai on their return. Molokai can give you a sense of both culture and history combined. It can offer you a rugged but calm sense of nature with plush fertile valleys that are said to be about a hundred shades of green. The postcard rainforests and the exuberant fishing spots are only some of what Molokai has to offer. Enjoy scuba diving to see the barrier reefs and snorkeling. Visit the macadamia nut farm and the coffee plantation. Molokai does have one hospital, a police station, a library, a fire department, and at least one bank. So while it may not offer every thing that you could ever want it is sure to meet all of your needs. Molokai is magical and pristine; there is no place, especially within the United States that could ever match up to this possibly undeveloped yet most gratifying island of Molokai. Be sure to visit each of the beaches that Molokai has to offer because each one has something different to bring to the table. Whether or not it is a family orientated beach with camping facilities or a private beach that allows you to just lie back on a blanket and soak up the rays, it is the perfect destination for a much needed vacation.
  • Molokai Offers Tropical Seclusion  By : Tony Rathstone..
Seclusion, nothing but beautiful, tranquil, and relaxing seclusion offered in a way that incorporates the beauty of Hawaii with an additional spin. Normally, in order to get serene tranquility and a disengagement from the hectic city life, one must escape to a rural area. Molokai is rustic and the heritage runs so very deep but its beauty is unmatched. Imagine a tropical paradise with glistening waters and perfect white sand. Palm trees swaying in the warm tropical breeze and people, who are mainly Molokai natives, are the most hospitable people that you would ever want to encounter. The only things that Molokai lacks are traffic lights, radio signals, and more than one cable company. It is not uncommon to see people riding through the trails on mules which are offered on guided tours for a nominal fee. You will not hear traffic driving down the roads but what you will hear is the sound of the waters and the birds. You can count the gas stations and party stores on one hand which is the main reason that so many visitors are attracted to this island specifically every year. No crowds or massive tourists and if you want air travel, you will have to go to another island for a charter. Natives from Molokai believe that overcrowding and urbanization have been the seed of corruption for other Hawaiian islands. They are not willing to compromise their beliefs or do they want any part of the end result of urbanization that has very much changed their sister islands. They refuse to allow monetary greed to sway them into changing what they so believe in. While they welcome people to their island they will not turn their beautiful tropical paradise into a money making opportunity. The only way to get to Molokai is by prop plane or by ferry and many of the Molokai native residents have to use these means daily to get to their jobs on other islands. Select tourists choose Molokai as their destination simply because they want all of the beauty that the Hawaiian Islands offer but are not interested in huge amounts of tourists that swarm the beaches while sipping on a tropical cocktail. Molokai is where you should be heading if your plans include remote luxury and just the simple life that seems to have been kissed by an angel. It may be rough to get a signal for your cell phone and it is almost impossible to get any high speed internet connections and the beaches are shimmering and so very blue but the beach selection is limited because of the geographical changes on Molokai. But those who travel to Molokai are certain of one thing and that is that they will return because the experience is so exemplary. This adventure is one that you will not soon forget and one that you will be sure to share with friends and family. Your trip to Molokai will leave you with a calm and serene feeling and wondering how it is that you managed to live without all of the technology that the city life offers and walked away not ever even missing it.
  • Visiting Molokai  By : Tony Rathstone..
A visit to the island of Molokai will be a relaxing, spiritual, and educational experience. While still being able to bask in the Hawaiian beauty, this vacation will be unique. The island of Molokai is more of a native Hawaiian paradise than the rest of the islands. This is because the majority of the population is of Native Hawaiian ancestry. A lot of the traditions of this island have been preserved from past. Visiting Molokai would be comparable to taking a trip to the country because it well outside of the city in a nest all of its own. The air is fresher and most of the people there have a great love for the outdoors. They respect the earth and what it has to offer and try to live from it as much as they can. The population in Molokai is very sparse. A vacation in Molokai is like a visit to a fashioned old Hawaii. Molokai was actually formed out of volcano remnants and is one of the smallest of the six Hawaiian Islands. The island holds the highest sea cliffs in the entire United States. Oddly enough, the island as small as it is, has two different legendary sections. One is extremely dry and the other is high plateaus and plush rain forests. Although it is slightly underdeveloped, it is an inordinately friendly place. The island boasts a remote and rather secluded place to visit. Don't be confused, Molokai still offers luxurious beaches, romantic hideaways, and all of the water activities that the other islands offer but Molokai just offers it in a different way. There are ample land adventures and tours, charter fishing, cascading waterfalls, and gorgeous beaches. If five star hotels and sumptuous restaurants are what you have in mind then Molokai is not the place you are going to visit. What makes Molokai so unique is that there is not one traffic light, no tall buildings, no nightclubs, no malls, a tropical paradise that is unimaginable. Molokai is not fast paced at all and the perfect place to visit if you need to relax and unwind away from the everyday hustle and bustle. Molokai is referred to by the native Hawaiians as the best kept secret. Papohaku Beach is the best beach in Hawaii and it is home to Molokai. There is plenty to do on this beach that will keep you busy for days. Visitors can spend hours just sitting and talking with the locals about the history and stories about this island that has never been touched by city life. The white sandy beaches are secluded and don't be surprised if you one of very few visitors on the beach. Molokai offers most of the luxuries of the bigger and more developed islands but just refuses to industrialize or compromise the way that they live and their beliefs and cultures. Watching the sunsets and sunrises, the whales and the visitors enjoying the water activities can occupy much of your time. Molokai will offer you one of the most relaxed and beautiful vacations that you could ever imagine.
  • The Beauty Of Molokai  By : Tony Rathstone..
Looking out from the view in Maui, you can look across the ocean and see the remote island of Molokai. Although it is visible they are miles apart in beliefs, traditions, and culture. Even though they are related islands, the two Hawaiian Islands are worlds apart. In Maui there is a very high tourist rate and an urbanized twist to the perfect tropical fairyland. In Molokai you will find the same beauty but everything slows down because the natives there want it to stay that way. There are many lighthouses on the Hawaiian Islands but none more spectacular than the one that sits on the shoreline of Molokai. Tourists and natives alike agree that this lighthouse not only has a long history behind it but is also the most beautiful. In the park where this lighthouse is located there is also a rain forest, a volcanic crater, and caves as well. Everything in Molokai is natural and there is no pollution. The air is fresh and clean. The trip is non conventional and doesn't offer leis for souvenirs just the kind of pure tranquility that people read about in books. Undeveloped civilization is prominent but by no means will you do without a thing. Everything that you would want or need is ample just in a very non traditional manner. To get a real experience of the true beauty that Molokai does offer, you can take a helicopter tour which will take you right above Molokai's waterfall which is the tallest in all of Hawaii and past the amazing sea cliffs that are so prominent of this island. Molokai is a step back in time and there is a chance that you won't want to leave once you are there. Even with all of the remoteness that Molokai hangs on to there are a few concessions that have been made including an eighteen hole golf course that is ocean side. Car and bicycle rentals, a few restaurants, and some tours as well. Molokai residents try at all costs to live off of the land and sea and the residents of the island do whatever it takes to protect their natural resources. This is how the land on Molokai has managed to stay wild and almost untouched. There are many parts of Molokai that have not been changed or unpreserved by man for many years. Some of the foods that are exclusive to Molokai are their sensational breads, macadamia nuts, bok choy, Chinese cabbage, and sweet potatoes that are purple in color. There is not much of a party atmosphere on Molokai and it is just purely laid back but is certain that every person that you pass will look you directly in the eye and bid you a hello. If you happen to stop and engage in any conversation with them, the slightest insinuation will have them telling stories that only the natives of Molokai could tell. Watching the sunset is magnificent and as you peer into the night time skies you will feel as if you can actually reach out and grab a star. It is simply gorgeous.
  • Maui's Cuisine  By : Tony Rathstone..
Maui is well known for its savvy restaurants and fireside luau's. While offering many traditional American foods there are also many that you may not have the opportunity to taste once you depart. Imagine being the guest of a real Hawaiian luau. Polynesian drumbeats, the exotic native dancers, under the night stars with a warm island breeze blowing while you feast on Lomi-Lomi Salmon, Poi, and Haupia, all native Hawaiian dishes. Hawaiian cuisine generally includes fresh fruits that are grown locally, pork and a variety of fresh fish. Poke a dish that is also a traditional dish of Hawaiians consists of sliced, raw fresh fish, mixed with seaweed, Chile peppers, and roasted nuts. These are traditional dishes that are served mainly at luaus along with salads and roasted pig. Huli Huli is the traditional roasted suckling piglet which slowly roasts the piglet on a rotisserie. Puna goat cheese and fresh picked pineapple are used in many of the homeland recipes as well as macadamia nuts and fresh coconuts. So many cultures are blended together in Hawaii that the food is very sui generis. Some people may miss the rare cuisine the most after they have gone home. In addition to the rare cuisine, it is imperative that you sample the exclusive teas and locally grown coffees but also do not forget to tease you pallet with the various wines that are grown from local grapes and the rare micro brewed beers. You have to leave enough room for the fancy Hawaiian Pina Coladas and Daiquiris that are served all day long, even while you are soaking up the sun on the white sandy sun kissed beaches. If you are feeding a family or have an allowance to follow there are ways to cut corners. Select which meal of the day will be the big meal and travel outside of your hotel or resort to eat the other two. Some of the scuba and hiking packages include one meal for each person so that will help cut corners too. It might also be cost effective to pack a cooler and have a picnic on the beach. Also consider some of the all you can eat buffets as they are affordable and offer a combination of a meal as well as dessert. Regardless of which choice you make regarding your meals, there are some items that are just part of the Hawaiian experience which will be part of every memory that you hold from your vacation. Food is an essential part of every vacation and when you receive an opportunity to visit a tropical paradise such as Maui, it is more than just the paramount experience of the excellent service, the landmark scenery, the impeccable spa and massage treatments, the everlasting views of the blue ocean, it is also about what delicacies you were able to consume. Maui is bountiful with fresh fish and delectable fruits that are used to make masterful dishes for travelers as well as Hawaiian natives. Their creative flare for incorporating them into unique dishes is impeccable. It is no wonder that once you have left the island, the cuisine will be one of your most unforgettable memories.

  • Get Married In Maui With Grn  By : Tony Rathstone..
During the planning of any wedding, couples know that their dream wedding can get out of hand quite quickly. Sometimes, it no longer becomes the dream of the bride and groom but the dream of their friends and family. This can become quite confusing to any couple and once the astronomical expenses are factored in, this happy and most important day in your life can become a nightmare. Believe it or not, planning a wedding in Maui can cost less and relieve that once planned fantasy, turned nightmare, back into the best time of your life. Many couples are choosing the picturesque landscape of Maui for the place they want to exchange their vows. What could be more perfect? With traditional weddings costing in excess of $30,000 or more, couples are turning to the most romantic tropical paradise to begin their lives together. Your wedding can be as intimate or extravagant as you want it to be. Hawaiians pride themselves on making certain that every single need that you may have on your stay is accounted for. Wedding planners are abundant in Maui and can assist in all of your planning needs. Because you are in Hawaii, included in all wedding ceremonies is also the exchanging of lei's, which is just one more unique and memorable trinket that you will have to treasure for years to come. A fairy tale wedding fit for a princess can be arranged if that is to your liking. Again, you can spend as much or as little as you feel comfortable with but the same applies anywhere. If money is of little or no concern imagine a wedding with a traditional Hawaiian flare. Pamper yourself the day before your wedding as you indulge in a Lomi Lomi massage, a pedicure, facial, and a manicure right in your hotel suite. A wedding, your wedding, as you and your lifetime partner stand side by side on the shoreline of the most beautiful beach offered to mankind, hand in hand, the warm wind is gently blowing and you both look amazing. Family and friends of your choice are there to witness this once in a lifetime event. You are surrounded by hula dancers, torch carriers, conch shell blowers, and a Hawaiian singer performing the Hawaiian Wedding Song. Distinct and fragrant flowers line your path and you exchange your vows, your rings, and the traditional lei exchange. Your picture perfect ceremony can end with the two of you releasing doves into the air, or even butterflies as a symbol of unity. Your reception can be as big or as small, as elegant or as private as you would like for it to be. It can range for a private ocean side dinner for both of you or an elegant reception at a restaurant or even in the resort facilities. The choice is yours. You also have the choice to rent or bring your wedding attire with you. Again, this can be as simple or as fancy as you want it to be. If simple is what you are looking for you can have a simple ceremony and spend the rest of your time sunning on the beach or in your private room, undisturbed.
