Every day we are tempted to buy many new things. Every day we see newer and better models of the electronic items that we already have. But it is this temptation to buy the latest gadgets because our neighbor or our colleague has one, which steals the precious hard earned money from our pockets. But this has to be controlled and your precious hard earned money and savings are to protected. Keep reading to know how.

First of all you need to cut down on that unnecessary landline phone bill. Almost every one of us has a mobile phone connection and a landline connection. But how many of us really make any good use of both of them at the same time? A mobile phone goes wherever you go, whether it be your living room or the superstore or office. Then what is the need for a landline phone? By getting it disconnected, you can easily save at least $50 every month I rentals. Also, by choosing the most appropriate rental plan for your mobile phone, you can save anywhere between $25 and $50 on the phone rentals.

Most of us use internet for plain and simple browsing, playing games or to use email services. But except for playing games you don't really need a high speed connection. And to play games you can simply buy or borrow a CD and play games anytime you want. And if you don't need to access internet very often then it'd be a good idea to use the free internet services available at local libraries or go to a cyber caf.

The TV set has been very correctly named the idiot-box. Most of the time we just keep flipping between the channels hoping for something interesting to turn up only to end up frustrated at the end. So why not just cut the cable connection so that you have enough time to relax, exercise or spend with your family or do something more worthwhile than just flipping channels with your TV's remote.

Put an end to those magazine subscriptions. You rarely read any of them and it makes absolutely no sense to spend hundreds of dollars each month on unnecessary magazines that you can always borrow for free from the local library.

By just cutting a few corners in your life here and there you can easily save many more of your hard earned dollars. The more you save, the more you'll feel secure. The more financially secure you are, the better your position is to buy to buy the best things in life.
