For so many people, the cost of a dentist in the USA, is too high to be afforded. For the ones who live close to the Mexican border there is a solution to this problem, the solution is going down to Mexico. Well even people that are not too close to the border, nowadays are more and more often taking the habit of jumping on a plane to go down to Mexico and have the dental work done by a Mexican Dentist at a much more affordable price.

Maybe it is a little too general suggesting to cross the border and to find a dentist... Well, in a big country like Mexico, you can't go just to the first place that you may find, you need someone to tell you where to find a good Mexican dentist. The dentists in Mexico are regulated like in USA by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the AACD association, that has about 7500 members that are from 59 different countries.

I am not saying that going down to Mexico, it can be the only alternative you have, in fact I am sure that there are doctors from Santo Domingo, or Costa Rica, or other places too, that offer a good service at a good price. Cosmetic dentistry can be taken care in a lot of places, and for a much more affordable price than in the USA, just like in Mexico. what we are talking is not the only available alternative, to have your teeth fixed at a reasonable price.

There is a way tough to get a good deal with the Mexican dentists, is making sure to decide the price for the total of the treatment. Don't allow them to add any additional service after you make a deal at the time of your first visit. In other words, a good Mexican dentist has to give you a free consultation and stick with the price of the treatment that is decided at the very first visit.

Definitely you can trust a Dentist in Mexico. You have to make sure tough, before you go for the first visit, if he is willing to offer you a free consultation. Make sure he has also all his professional licenses right there exposed, to testify the fact that he is real. Don't make any deal if not after the first visit, you may see in Internet some miracle price, but go there for a free consultation, if there is no free consultation, just go to an other Mexican dentist.

To be sure you get a good dental work in Mexico, the best way is asking someone who has already got a dental work done in Mexico, if you don't know anybody, look for blogs were people talk about their dental work. I saw some posts from people that went down to Mexico and they say exactly where they went and how it was, reading comments from other people, it is far the safest way to get a good job done for a great price.

A detail, that can make the difference, is whether or not the doctor speaks English, some doctors have the secretary or a person that translates for you in Spanish, but this is not the same as when you are able to talk directly to the doctor, even if he doesn't speak perfect English, that is fine, but you don't want to be translated from anybody when it comes to explain your sintoms and what you want your dental work like, so in the free consultation you have to make sure that the doctor is able to speak directly to you in English.

One thing you should definitely avoid, is taking any chances by going to the first dentist you find just across the border, you have to make a little research on the Internet, according to your area. Write them you are planning to go down there, wherever the city you are planning to go, and ask for an appointment and a free consultation to have an estimate price of the cosmetic work you need to get done in Mexico, good luck.
