Jump Start Your Life Again

By: Bruna Bacellio

Life is often best represented by the word repetition. Repetition is often very comforting, but it hardly what anybody would call inspiring. In fact, it can drain the enjoyment from your life.

Inspiration is a funny thing because it is unique. Simply put, it is different things to different people. One person might see a story on the news and be incredibly inspired. The person sitting next to them, however, may start clicking the channel looking for something else to watch.

There is an old axiom about life going on all around us, yet we don’t notice. If you get caught up in the repetition of your life, it can often become pure drudgery. You need to open your eyes to the world.

So, how do you beet the rut that daily life can become. Again, it is in the small things. Stepping beyond your daily routine is the way to do it. Here are a list of little things that anyone can do and will jumpstart you.

1. When you wake up, take inspiration in the fact you have a full day to do something great.

2. If you are interested in someone, walk up and talk to them.

3. Take a long, hot bath.

4. Plan out a vacation, even if it will be a bit before you can go.

5. Make a list of 100 things you want to do before you die. Tape it to the mirror in your bathroom. Work towards accomplishing the list each and every day.

6. Kiss your spouse or partner.

7. Go see a comedian. Laughing is good for you.

8. Go for a hike and admire the world around you.

9. Acknowledge you are in a rut.

10. If you are eating out, focus on the taste of the food, not the discussion at the table.

11. By a Nomad Journal and use it. Review your entries every month.

12. Analyze what famous people have over come. Richard Pryor’s parents were a pimp and prostitute.

13. Take a class in something you are interested in.

14. Write a check to yourself for some large amount and then set a goal of having that amount in some number of years.

15. Do a search on YouTube for “running bear” and watch the video. If you don’t double over in laughter, see a doctor immediately.

16. Read a poem.

17. Clean your bathroom. For some reason, you will always feel better.

18. Brighten up your house or office with flowers.

19. Read a biography on Mother Teresa.

Some of these things will work for you while others may not. The point is not so much the list, but the idea you need to branch out in your life. Life is not about routine. It is about much, much more. Go find out!
