When it comes to hair loss in women, several different causes may lead to this particular condition. Below we will look at just what these are and also what the signs are that you may be suffering from one of these particular hair loss women causes. 1. Androgenetic Alopecia, which is similar to that which men suffer from, however, in women rather than becoming bald it results in a diffused thinning of the hair on the scalp. In some cases the woman may actually suffer from a combination of two types of this hair loss problem and is caused by a number of different factors. In many cases where women are suffering from this kind of hair loss, it can be narrowed down to a couple of different factors. In some women, the problem has arisen because there is an increase in the amount of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that their body is producing. Too much of this hormone in the body will bind to the hair follicles and prevent regrowth to take place. The other reason why a woman may suffer from female pattern baldness involves their genetic makeup. Although some people believe that only the woman's father needs to have this gene in order to suffer from this form of hair loss, in fact it needs to be both parents that have passed the gene on. 2. Telogen Effluvium is not as common as the above mentioned but can occur at any stage in a woman's life. It happens when they have undergone some traumatic event. Mostly this will occur in women during the birth of a child, when they have undergone some kind of major surgery, or they are suffering from high levels of stress. The difference with this kind of hair loss problem is that it may take some time after the event has occurred before it is noticed. In fact, it can take between 6 weeks to 3 months before a woman realizes she is suffering from Telogen Effluvium. If severe enough, the disorder can cause hair to fall out in clumps, rather than just a general thinning of the woman's hair over her scalp that is normally seen. Yet identifying and treating this will, under most conditions, cause this form of hair loss to go into remission. However, for some women the condition of Telogen Effluvium can be so severe that it becomes a chronic disorder and will persist for months or years. Unfortunately, for these women actually finding and understanding what is causing the problem to occur is the most difficult thing that they will face. Above we have looked at what are considered to be the two most common of all hair loss women causes. However, if diagnosed correctly then the right kind of treatment can be provided and this will then reduce the chances of the condition becoming far worse. Not only will the right treatment help to prevent further hair loss, but is also likely to help hair regrowth in the future.
