If you were to open any womens magazine which you saw displayed at the bookstore or at the airport news rack you would only need to flick a few pages to come face to face with societies obssesion with cellulite. I am confident in it's pages you would find either an ad, feature article or most likely a photo of the latest maturing celebrity with cellulite. But this behaviour makes no sense whatsoever. But why is it such a big deal, what is cellulite? If we were to refer to wikipedia it says for cellulite " a condition that occurs in men and women where the skin of the lower limbs, abdomen, and pelvic region becomes dimpled after puberty". Descriptive names for cellulite include orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, the mattress phenomenon, and hail damage. Contrary to common belief people (women and men) of all ages can have cellulite it is not a symptom exclusive to women as most believe. Some how what is seen as adorable on babies is horrifying bad news on women. Trashy celebrity magazines in the grocery store and on the news stands take great delight in showing photo's of celebrities when scantily clad on a beach to show close-up photos (doubtless taken with very large zoom lenses) of actresses and their shockingly 'normal' bodies. You'll notice in your drug store and online hundreds of creams, lotions and all manner of potions to rid ourselves of the legs and thighs of this dimpling effect called cellulite. All of which claim to resolve the problem. The majority people have choosen to ignore the fact or maybe just don't realize that getting rid of cellulite or eliminating cellulite in the first place is not that hard. In a word it just requires EXERCISE , with simple walking or bike riding you can tone your butt and thighs and the cellulite will go far quicker than with any cream, lotion or other wonder cure. Oh there is a down side you might actually have to do something but look on the bright side you'll also probably lose a few pounds in to the bargain. Why is it people spend so much time worrying about the after effects of neglecting their bodies but fail to do anything about the cause that led to the problem in the first place? I'm not saying everyone could have a perfect body that's just impossible but eating healthy and keeping healthy has to make sense doesn't it? Don't think that cellulite is a sign of bad health it is not , nor is it a disease or even and illness . You might find this hard to accept if you listen to the skin care companies or read articles in womens magazines. But their interests lie else where. By taking a healthy walk or bike ride or maybe even swimming each day you will improve your overall health much more than any other therapy including lotions, creams and electric muscle stimulators. I foudn out that cellulite is little more than fat and should not be regarded any more or less important than fat elsewhere on the body. Any sort of nutritional supplement, topical product (applied to the affected area), device, or specific spa treatment that claims to reduce cellulite should be considered with caution primarily for safety reasons and also because they simply are not effective. Your best bet to get rid of cellulite is to get regular, sometimes strenuous, exercise and eat a diet that won't give you surplus unneccesary fat. You must not forget your body shape and the way it disperses fat around the body is a genetic trait so if you get cellulite if all else fails just say your mom gave it to you. A good source for information is the U.S. Library of Medicine if you have cellulite concerns: - Stop Smoking if a smoker, and take regular exercise not forgetting to maintain a healthy weight without huge fluctuations. Drink plenty of fluids (ideally water) and consume at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. See told you it was nothing to worry about ... funny feeling is I feel my message will be falling on deaf ears.
